Elizabeth Bambutjmi

Elizabeth Bambutjmi Mununggurr is a contemporary Indigenous Australian artist born in 1962. She is culturally associated with the Gumatj clan. Her intricate works, which include paintings and ceremonial objects, explore foundational cultural narratives such as mortuary ceremonies and ancestral dreaming stories. Bambutjmi’s pieces are held in major public collections, including the Oceanic Art collection at the San Antonio Museum of Art.
