- Artwork story
- Arone is a multi award winning Aboriginal artist from Far North Queensland who has spent time in India; France where he lived for 3 years working at the Arts International and the USA where he worked extensively with Native American artists. His art reflects influences from all these cultures dominated by his own Aboriginal heritage. His work comprises elements of India's highly exotic yet religious images, tribal influences from trips to Arnhem Land and dreaming images from his own ancestors of Far North Queensland. His prints are wonderfully expressive, fresh and spontaneous. In his own words - "Through my art I have identity and strength. It would be true to say that I am hunting for lost pieces of myself, but through my culture I have found many of the answers. My work is about sorting out my frustrations. It's about my anger, my happiness and the way I express myself."
