- Acquired by Joe Paquin, a former US submariner who returned to WA after WWII and became a Native Affairs Officer for the WA government in the Kimberley region in the early 1950's. Mr. Paquin was based at the Kalumburu Mission, which had recently reverted to government control after previously being administered by the Catholic Church

Ceremonial boards are used in rituals throughout Australia. They are usually secret or restricted objects incised with geometric designs and decorated for ceremonial performances. Used to help convey information about inter-group meetings and other activities.
