- Pukamani ploes represent individual people who have passed away and act as a mourning process that can continue after the deceased person has been buried.
Artist Statement: I grew up assisting the old people carve and paint. They had strong culture. My father taught me. When I carve and paint I feel strong in my spirit. Proud to be a Tiwi man. Keeping our culture alive.
