- Lilly paints sandhills,wind and after rain in her country near Mt.Leibig,rather than narratives associated with particular dreaming sites.The patterns formed on the land by these elements are depicted in her paintings through the use of strands of diminishing dots, delicately rendered into spontaneous and random patterns.
These patterns produce a serene ambience and her large scale works capture both the epic and spectacular nature of her country.Lilly Kelly was born at Haasts Bluff NT in the late 1940’s.
