Artwork story: This painting depicts a Dreamtime story of women from the Nungarrayi and Napaltjarri skin groups searching for bush tucker. The women come together from different campsites to share ideas about the community and to teach the younger girls the sacred tribal stories and knowledge. This ceremony is called Ya. After the discussions are over the women go hunting. The U shapes represent the women. The lines represent the travelling lines. The large concentric circle depicts the sacred site where bush food is gathered. This dreaming comes from the Duck Pond in the Northern Territory.
