- ‘This one down hill, la Bow River, big hill. That man is sittng down there for all the dogs. Singing out, singing out [top left hand corner – the dotted hill]. Dog bin right down la river, la Bow River. Chasing that kangaroo, right down. They bin stealing that kangaroo. This man bin singing out singing out, bin turn into man, ya know. That man, he only a young man. We call him jiyiliny – that means young man.’
Madigan is talking about the young man who was singing out for his dog in the Ngarranggarni (Dreamtime). His dog chased a kangaroo and never came back. That young man waited and waited for so long, he turned into the hill that remains at Bow River.
