- Artwork story
- In characteristic style, Queenie depicts her traditional country near old Texas Downs Station east of Turkey Creek. Mount Button near Texas Hills is depicted in this work along with Texas Hills and hills containing white Quartz which was used traditionally for spear making.
Her works reflect her strong love and commitment to the landscape where she grew up. The artist's career was guided by the master artist Rover Thomas, a lifelong friend, whose life she once saved following a dramatic riding accident. This simple and beautiful work illustrates her interest in recording and mapping her country.
