Sculptural Installation in Mirrored Steel
Commissioned by Adrian Newstead at the Château des Deux Amants
The DREAM GAZEBO is an extension of the ideas from my previous sculptural works and is designed as a place to consider the dream world and to allow the audience to have a full body experience in which time outside the gazebo can be suspended. The surfaces have been chosen to mimic dream like states with the reflection of the exterior mirrored surface and the neon perspex altering the way the natural light falls and the way the gazebo interacts with the environment that it sits in.
This sculpture edition was made entirely from mirrored steel inside and out, so when you stand in it, it has the effect of limitless space. It is situated in the centre of a grove of old trees and its placement makes it feel quite ethereal. The Chateau itself overlooks the Siene River and so the DREAM GAZEBO has views the Chateau, the river and the adjacent forest.
