Muŋurrapin Maymuru is an artist from the Maŋgalili clan in northeast Arnhem Land. His homeland is Djarrakpi, and he belongs to the Yirritja moiety. He learned to paint at Djarrakpi under the guidance of his father, Nanyin Maymuru, and his uncle, Narritjin Maymuru, a historically significant artist. Drawing on these strong artistic influences, Muŋurrapin continues the Yolŋu traditions of bark painting, incorporating sacred clan designs.
