Art Market Analytics
With extensive experience in the Australian primary and secondary art market, Adrian Newstead provides accurate historical information and advice on the sales results for artworks across galleries, auction houses, and art consultancies in Australia and abroad.
In 2010, Adrian introduced the AAMI rating scale, which annually ranks the top 200 individual living and deceased Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists based on secondary market performance indicators.
The AAMI Rating is calculated using a formula developed by Adrian Newstead in collaboration with John Furphy from the Australian Art Sales Digest, with input from arts economist Dr. Jon Stanford (FSIA).
